5 Must Haves For On Your Website Homepage
Did you know that you only have 7 seconds for someone to decide they want to stick around on your site??
When someone lands on your website do you have potential clients hitting that “I am ready to book” button or are they hitting that “back” button?
Here are my 5 must haves that I think every home page should have and that will hopefully help you book more dream clients:
A descriptive tagline that identifies your business
Your main call to action
A small intro
Overview of your services
Social Proof
Alright lets go through them all shall we!!
1. A descriptive tagline that identifies your business.
This is the first thing that most new visitors see on your website.
And where they decide if they want to work with you or hit that back button.
First you need to figure out who your main target is.
Who is your ideal client?
What do they need help with?
What are their pain points? What do they struggle with? And how can you help them with your service?
Put out a clear and simple headline that explains exactly what you have to offer and who you work with.
So when your dream client hops onto your site, they will be like YES this is for me. I need this!
Here I have a tagline recipe for you to help you create one:
What do you do?
Who do you serve?
Where are you located? (if locations is important for your business)
How are you different? (why should the client choose you over the competition)
A Call to Action
2. Your main call to action
A Call to Action is next.
After a potential client reads your tagline and decides that you are for them, what do you want them to do or go next?
What do you want most out of your website? (have visitors read your blog, view your services, head to your contact page right away)?
If you for example you are a hair stylist, you would probably want your visitors to book an appointment.
So you would want to put a “book your appointment” button.
If you are a photographer you might want to send your visitors to your portfolio or services page first.
3. A small intro
So the client is not a 100% sure yet, they didn’t click on your Call to Action…
BUT they are still interested and scrolling down the page.
This is the part where you try and connect with them.
People like to buy from people. Make them feel like you get them and they are in the right place!
Include a photo of your yourself, show some personality!!
4. An overview of your services
Give the client a quick overview of what you do and what services your offer.
You don’t need to go into too much detail here but do add a Call to Action button to take them to your services page where they can find out some more details about your services.
5. Social proof
It is so important to have some social proof!!!
Personally, before I buy a product I always look at the reviews first and I am sure your clients do the same.
Add in some testimonials of past clients or blogs you have been featured on, companies you have worked with.
I hope these 5 tips were helpful to you and hopefully you will start booking more dream clients!!
